I thought the artist's use of surroundings was really innovative as he capture the alphabet of the city and even though it is abstract it is still understandable when the letters are all together which is quite comforting as I think I want my type face to be quite abstract but this has encouraged me that when all the images are together it is easy to tell that it is a alphabet.

If I choose to focus on photography with my specimen I would love to experiment with glass, definitely using a glass bottle as the curve of the material would manipulate the image really well. However I worry if I have put all this effort into making this font I might not want its size and proportions to be contorted in its final image. Perhaps if I do a short film then it would work as the audience would be able to see the font change and contort which would e interesting!

Love the use of light in this one! Made me think I might experiment with shadows as I think it has a really dynamic effect, especially if I use filming fro my specimen as lighting can flicker and fade which would look really interesting on camera.

This is another one which has opened my mind to typography as I find this use in unusual material so fascinating and even though it makes it more difficult to follow the rules and guidelines of typography but  it just looks so incredibly eye catching and interesting, it really makes me want to also pick something a bit unusual for my font.

This really caught my eye as I also thought the medium of typography as being quite dull with very strict rules and guidelines but this has given me a insight into how you can manipulate the image to create really interesting typography. Not only does the bright colour of the banana make it eye catching but it is also quite humorous as or minds know bananas can't bend this way but the overall look is so dynamic.

This one does not so much show a interesting font but how to present your font in a dynamic creative way. If I could just use a original font and had to find something to imprint on I definitely think food is one of the most interesting things you can choose however this is not the assignment but I still think it's a interesting way to display what you have made.

This made me pounder about using objects to create my typography Because I really admire the artists use of space as each object in the letter has been spaced out perfectly and everything balances out, this must of taken a very long time to perfect and I think if I did it I might use old toys and dolls as I think that could create a interesting outcome.

I adore this one the most!! Not only do I love the use of the body to create the font, which I really want to incorporate in my font, but I love the eerie, mysterious imagery of it. I could imagine it being used in a film poster perhaps but overall this is the most interesting way of creating a type I have seen yet.

This made me think about using photography in my type face which did not even cross my mind before and I really like the use of the background material peaking through however what worries me is that I know that I am not very good with a scalpel and it would be very prevalent in the photo if there are scruffy rough edges whereas in this one all the line are so sharp and neat which gives it the overall professional  look.

Not only do I like the unconventional use of material that works so well with the style and narrative of the book but this has made me really consider doing a book cover for my specimen as I think it is one of the best ways to really highlight the font.
